GT4 MANUFACTURER RANKING: Big points at Bathurst help BMW close in on crown

GT4 Manufacturer Ranking standings

BMW moved a step closer to clinching the inaugural GT4 Manufacturer Ranking crown last weekend by extending its lead over Porsche during the Monochrome GT4 Australia finale at Bathurst.

The Bavarian marque top scored across the two 60-minute races to edge further clear out front with only the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club’s round in Jeddah now remaining.

At Mount Panorama BMW’s total of 661 points was 193 more than Porsche’s entries could manage, thus increasing its overall advantage to 824.

That sizeable lead is not insurmountable, however. Significantly more points have been scored by a manufacturer in a single European event this year.

Aston Martin looks set to end the season in third overall despite not scoring at all in Australia last weekend. Mercedes-AMG remains 2,710 points behind, while McLaren, Toyota, Audi and Ford complete the list of registered manufacturers.

Jeddah hosts the GT4 Manufacturer Ranking’s season decider on November 28-30.
